Alma C. Thole
Alma C. Thole, 93, of Osgood, passed away on Monday, January 28, 2008 at the Manderley Health Care Center in Osgood. She was born on May 4, 1914 in Ripley County, the daughter of Charles and Mary (Meyer) Kohlman, Sr. She married John B. Thole on October 10, 1936 and he preceded her in death on October 28, 1997.
She is survived by one sister, Esther Youngman of Osgood. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, three brothers: Louis, Charles and Leonard.
Visitation is being held today, Thursday, from 9-11 a.m. at the St. Maurice Catholic Church in Napoleon. Funeral services will follow at 11 a.m. at the church with Rev. Robert Hankee officiating. Burial will be in the St. Maurice Cemetery in Napoleon. Porter-Oliger-Pearson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Memorials may be made to the St. Maurice Cemetery Fund.

August G. "Gus" Remenowsky
August G. "Gus" Remenowsky, 85, of Cincinnati, Ohio, formerly of Cross Plains area, passed away on Monday, January 28, 2008. He was born on September 15, 1922 in Covington, Ky., the son of August and Matilda Meyers Remenowsky. He married Frances Harris in 1944 and she preceded him in death in 1995.
Survivors include one daughter, Melody Ibanez of Moores Hill; two granddaughters, Amy Flanary and Nora Flanary-Bowman; seven great grandchildren; three great great grandchildren; and one brother, Leroy Murray. He was preceded in death by his parents and wife.
Mr. Remenowsky was a farmer who grew tobacco and fruits and vegetables. He also was a truck driver for Vatter Trucking for many years and built bridges in the area. He was in the US Coast Guard from 1940-1944.
There will be no services or visitation. Arrangements were made by Filter-DeVries Funeral Home in Dillsboro.

Cletus P. Walsman
Cletus P. Walsman, 74, of Batesville, died Monday, January 8, 2008. Funeral services will be held today, Thursday, January 31 at 10 a.m. at the St. Louis Church, Batesville. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Weigel Funeral Home, Batesville is in charge of the arrangements.

Argia Jo (Jacobucci) Gray
Argia Jo (Jacobucci) Gray, 69, of Greenwood, passed away on Wednesday, January 16, 2008. She was born on April 1, 1938 in Chicago Heights, Illinois, the daughter of Johanna and Guy Jacobucci. She married Michael L. Gray on February 10, 1961 and he preceded her in death.
Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law JoLynda and Bradley Wilson; siblings: Joseph Jacobucci, Marilyn Brown, and Emil Teri; nine nieces and nephews; five great nieces and nephews; and many other beloved family and friends.
Argia was preceded in death by her mother Johanna Jacobucci, her stepmother Mary Jacobucci, and her father Guy Jacobucci.
Mrs. Gray graduated from Bloom High School in 1956 and attended both Indiana University and Southern Illi-nois University where she earned a bachelor’s degree in education as well as a master’s degree in education. She retired from teaching in 2000 after serving as an elementary education teacher for 34 years. She was a member of two red hat societies, the Precious Gems of Lincoln Park in Greenwood and the Garden of Life Red Hatters of Franklin.
She enjoyed traveling with friends and serving on her neighborhood board. She will be missed most for her spunky personality and un-conditional support of those she loved.
Thoughts of gratitude go to her neighbors and friends in Lincoln Park for their en-during support as well as to the doctors and nurses at the Central Indiana Cancer Cen-ter for the inspiration they provided during her final months.

Jerry Legge

Jerry Legge, 71, of Aurora, passed away on Sunday, January 20, 2008 at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center. He was born on Sunday, May 24, 1936 in Coshocton, Ohio, the son of the late Eugene Arthur Legge and the late Thelma Clark Legge. He married Janice Legge and she survives.
Other survivors include three sons: Rusty (Debbie) Legge, Gerald Legge, and Adam (Beth) Legge; three daughters: Jackie Legge, Amber (David) Fehr, Rachel (Ed) Covert; one brother: Jimmy Legge; one sister: Rea McDonald; and 14 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son Rocky Legge.
Mr. Legge was a member of the Milan American Legion, Lawrenceburg and Aurora Eagles, VFW and Knights of Columbus. He worked as a boilermaker for Local Union 44 & 105.
Visitation is being held today, Thursday, from 5-8 p.m. at the Fitch-Denney Funeral Home in Lawrenceburg. Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 25 at 1 p.m. with Pastor David C. Blazier officiating. Burial will follow in the St. Paul’s Cemetery.

Herman J. Wissel, 84, of Batesville, passed away on Monday, January 21, 2008. Visitation is being held today, Thursday, from 4-7 p.m. at Weigel Funeral Home in Batesville. David "Pete" Myers
David "Pete" Myers, 84, of Greenwood, passed away on Monday, January 14, 2008, at the Johnson County Memorial Hospital in Franklin. He was born at New Marion on December 17, 1923, the son of Rufus and Lilla Brown Myers. He married Bertie Lou Cole on August 31, 1946 and she survives.
Other survivors include one son, Carlos (Patricia) Myers of Greenwood; one daughter; Delora Lynn Fox of Linwood, North Carolina; six grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; two brothers, Russell Myers of Evansville and Charles Myers of Osgood; two sisters, Nettie Grigsby of Versailles and Rosie Burress of New Marion. He was preceded in death by his parents; and his sisters Mabel Sexton, Betty Kieffer, Leah Swinney, and Mary Jo Lauber.
Mr. Myers retired in 1985 after 40 years as a machinist with Mead Containers in Norwood, Ohio. He was an Army veteran of WWII where he served with the 100th Chemical Mortar Battalion as a truck driver, hauling supplies, ammunition, and personnel into combat zones. Mr. Myers attended the Calvary Baptist Church in Greenwood and was a member of the Versailles American Legion. He enjoyed his grandchildren and motor sports.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 19 at 10:30 a.m. at the Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home in Versailles with Rev. Matthew Gibbs officiating. Burial will be in the New Marion Cemetery with military graveside rites by the Versailles American Legion. Wyona L. Bradley
Wyona L. Bradley, 66, Osgood, passed away on Wednesday, January 16, 2008 at the University Hospital in Cincinnati, Ohio. She was born on February 7, 1941 in Greensburg, the daughter of Virgil E. and Wilma (Boyce) Linville.
Survivors include four sons, Tim (Cathy) Bradley, Osgood, Charles Bradley, Jr., Lawrenceburg, Todd Bradley, Cincinnati, Robbie Bradley, Osgood; one daughter, Teresa (Eugene) Caudill, East Enterprise, In.; one brother, Ronald Linville, Batesville; one half brother, Rick (Carla) Linville, Greensburg; two half sisters, Melody Brancamp, Greensburg, Virgia (Dan) Dugle, Greensburg; 13 grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one daughter, Antoinette Bradley.
Ms. Bradley was a member of the First Baptist Church in Osgood and a graduate of Greensburg High School.
Visitation will be from 10-1:00 p.m. Friday at the Porter-Oliger-Pearson Funeral Home in Greensburg. Dorothy H. Dreyer, 89, of Batesville, passed away on Tuesday, January 15, 2008. Purina M. Francis
Purina M. Francis, 88, of Versailles, passed away on Wednesday, January 9, 2008, at the King’s Daughters’ Hospital in Madison. She was born in Whitesburg in Letcher County, Kentucky on February 18, 1919, the daughter of Arthur and Maude Taylor Sergent. She married John Francis on Feb-ruary 9, 1942 and he pre-ceded her in death on Febru-ary 9, 1988.
Survivors include one son, John (Candy) Francis of Elizabethtown; two daugh-ters, Hazel (Dennis) Lemen of Zionsville and Nancy (Lee) Crocker of Waverly, Ohio; seven grandchildren: Natalie (Jerry) Gilpin of Ver-sailles, Christopher Crocker of Columbus, Ohio, Elizabeth Crocker of Waverly, Ohio, Nicholas (Amy) Lemen of Indianapolis, Jeff Lemen of Palm Desert, California and Tony Francis and Kylie Fran-cis both of Elizabethtown; four great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; one brother, Willis Sergent of Paris Crossing; and one sister, Mattie Bates of Sellersburg.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brothers Benton, Andrew, and Paris Sergent; and one sister Alia Fields.
Mrs. Francis was a homemaker. She was a mem-ber of the Versailles Baptist Church where she partici-pated in the Ruth Browne Circle. She was also a mem-ber of the Lamplighters Home Ec Club and was a volunteer with the Ripley County Chapter of the Red Cross and with the American Heart Association. Her hobbies included her grandchildren, quilting and sewing.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 12 at the Versailles Bap-tist Church with Rev. Mark Walker officiating. Burial will be in the Grandview Memorial Garden at Madi-son. Gertrude C. (Holcomb) Tucker
Gertrude C. (Holcomb) Tucker, 93, of Butlerville, died Sunday, December 30, 2007 at her residence. She was born October 24, 1914 in Decatur County, the daughter of Joseph and Viola (Tatman) Holcomb. She married E. J. Tucker in Decatur County on February 14, 1937 and he preceded her in death on October 30, 1982.
Survivors include one daughter, Kathleen (Dale R.) Sprinkle of Bloomington, IL,; two sons, Denver Tucker and Jon Arthur Tucker of Madison; one sister, Mary Ruth Rork of Fishers; one brother Calvin (Thema) Holcomb of Westport; seven grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren and nine great great grandchildren.
One daughter Twilah (David) Criswell, one sister, Edna Adams and two brothers, Walter F. Holcomb and John F. Holcomb preceded her in death.
Mrs. Tucker was a member of the Union Flat Rock Baptist Church. She served as a 4-H leader for several years and was a Farm Bureau leader for the township and county. She was a member of the Flatrock Farmerettes Home Ec Club and cooked for the Jennings County Junior Leaders stand at the Jennings County 4-H Fair for many years.
Visitation will be held Thursday, January 3, 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Bass & Gasper Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service at Union Flat Rock Church. Funeral services will be held Friday, January 4, 11:00 a.m. at the Union Flat Rock Church with Pastor Donald Buck officiating. Burial will follow in the Union Flat Rock Cemetery.

Harold L. Pollert
Harold L. Pollert, 83, of Seymour, passed away on Saturday, December 29, 2007 at Lutheran Community Home in Seymour. He was born in Brownstown on March 29, 1924, the son of the late Louis and Selma O. (Pohlman) Pollert. He married Velora K. (Klusman) Pollert on July 28, 1962 at the Lutheran Church in Cross Plains and she preceded him in death on January 1, 2005.
Survivors include: one sister: Erna Hennig; four children: David Pollert, John (Brenda) Pollert, Richard (Joetta) Pollert and Luann (Eddie) Reynolds; seven grandchildren: Brennyn, Alaysha, Grainger and Kassarah Pollert, and Taylor, Chandler and Bailey Kaye Reynolds; and two step grandchildren: Brody Downs and Parker Ulrey.
Mr. Pollert served in the U.S. Navy in the Pacific from March 1943 to April 1946 during WWII. He was a member of the American Legion Post #89 of Seymour.
Mr. Pollert worked in electronics at Sears for 35 years and retired in October 1987. After retiring, he enjoyed volunteering at the Lutheran Community Home and other places. He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Seymour and felt honored serving on many different committees. In his spare time he enjoyed hunting and fishing and being with family.
Funeral services are being held today, Thursday, January 3 from 9-10 a.m. at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Seymour with Pastor Ralph Blomenberg, Pastor Philip Bloch, Pastor James Rodriguez and Vicar David Larson officiating. Burial will follow at Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery in Seymour with full military graveside rites conducted by the VFW, American Legion, Korean, Vietnam and DAV all of Seymour. Pamela Bowen McLaughlin
Pamela Bowen McLaughlin, 45, of North Vernon, died Tuesday, January 1, 2008 at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis. She was born February 20, 1962 in Franklin, the daughter of Robert L. and Judith M. (Dean) Ramsey and they survive in North Vernon. She married Michael McLaughlin and he survives in Elrod.
Other survivors include two sisters, Patricia Shephard of North Vernon and Lora Shasteen of Hawthorne, Florida; several stepsons and stepdaughters and step grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by husband David Bowen

.She was a former employee at the North Vernon Wal-Mart and the Old Tunnel Inn at Vernon.
Mrs. McLaughlin was a former member of the Moose Lodge #1314 at North Vernon, Brothers of the Third Wheel Trikers and Abate of Indiana.
Visitation will be held Saturday, January 5 from 11:00 a.m. until the time of funeral services at 2:00 p.m. at the Bass & Gasper Funeral Home in Westport. Burial will follow in the Westport Cemetery.

Raymond L. Smith
Raymond L. Smith, 94, of Hope, died Wednesday, December 26, 2007 at Columbus Health and Rehabilitation Center. He was born in Ripley County on December 19, 1913 the son of Albert and Edna E. Parsons Smith. He married Mary Shorten in 1934 and she preceded him in death in July 1955.
Survivors include a son, Robert D. (Jean) Smith of Hope; a daughter, Patricia (Steve) Foist of Columbus; grandchildren, Vickie (Bill) Wylonis of Columbus and Tim (Judi) Smith of Columbus; six great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.
His parents, wife and a sister, Lucy Fullmer preceded him in death.
Mr. Smith was a partner in the Hope Lumber Company and was a member of the Experimental Aircraft Association. He built his own aircraft, loved archery, photography and bow hunting.
Funeral services were held Saturday, December 29 at the Norman Funeral Home, with Rev. Virl Murray officiating. Burial was in the Mud Pike Cemetery in Ripley County.
Memorials may be given to the Alzheimer’s Association.

Mildred Rork
Mildred Rork, 82, of Versailles, formerly of Osgood, passed away Wednesday, January 2, 2008 at the Margaret Mary Community Hospital in Batesville. She was born at North Vernon on October 1, 1925, the daughter of Adolphus and Lydia Murphy Nealis. She was married to Jesse Rork on August 15, 1942 and he preceded her in death on December 27, 1986.
Survivors include two sons, Gene (Judy) Rork of Versailles and Rick (Suzanne) Rork of Litchfield, Illinois; one daughter, Rachel Mink of Fresno, Texas; six grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, daughter Carolyn Jean Rork, granddaughter Michelle Richter, sister, Frances Brooks and her brother Harold Nealis.
Mrs. Rork was a homemaker and enjoyed IU basketball. She was a member of the Dabney Baptist Church.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 5 at 11:00 a.m. at the Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home in Versailles with Dale Day officiating. Burial will be in the Greendale Cemetery in Osgood. Visitation will be Friday from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
Memorials may be given to Rescue 69 in care of the funeral home.
