Plan Commission grants request
previously tabled

Both agenda items for the March meeting of the Ripley County Area Plan Commission sailed through. Last month, the application by Robert Gartley and Victoria Altieri was tabled because of a no action vote. This month, primary approval was granted for Altieri Estates Subdivision 10-0-1 with Jeff French abstaining. The two-lot subdivision is located at 6665 N. County Rd. 850 E. in Milan. This item created some controversy last month when neighbors said that Gartley was a registered sex offender and they didn’t want him living next to their children.

Mark Heath applied for primary approval of Heath’s two-lot subdivision at 10018 S. State Road 129 in Cross Plains. This item requires a variance from the required side line setback of 20' to approximately 10' for the existing residence on lot #2. The vote again was 10-0-1 with Jeff French abstaining.

All 12 members of the board were in attendance except for Kaye Hunger. Attorney John Ertel and Planning Director Tad Brinson were also present to advise the board. The next regular meeting of the Ripley County Area Plan Commission will be April 1 at 7:00 p.m. at the Commissioners’ room in the Courthouse Annex in Versailles.
