South Ripley Raider High School Boys Reserve Basketball Coach Kendall Sheets, on the right, found basketball to be a way to make cash at an early age. He is pictured accepting a $25.00 check from Larry Armbrecht, co-owner of the Versailles Dairy Queen. The DQ sponsored the halftime shoot. Sheets connected during the SR Raider vs JCD Eagle basketball game.
The Eagles won 68-56 over SR. Coach Holdsworth was on the Raider team, scoring 10 points in their losing effort.

On November 16, 1984, Holton High School graduate of 1963, Duane Franklin, proved that an old Warhorse can connect for cash in the sport of basketball by claiming the $25.00 check from Dairy Queen halftime shoot presented by DQ co-owner Larry Armbrecht during the SR Raider vs Southwestern Hanover Rebel boys basketball game held at Tyson Auditorium.
SwH won 64-57, Coach Scott Holdsworth scored 12.
