Reserve officers take wanted felon into custody

After Ripley County reserve deputies AJ Smith and Andrew Adams received a warrant for Whitney R. Grider, 23, from the Lafayette County Missouri Sheriff's Department they began looking for her. They didn't have to look far as Grider was discovered in Sunman.

Sgt. Marvin Smith noted that the deputies received a tip last Wednesday, May 14 that the female was living in a Sunman trailer court. The officers went to the home about midnight when they saw Grider running through the trailer to the rear. She tried to hide behind a fake locker in a closet but was located and taken into custody a short time later without incident. She was taken to the Ripley County Jail to await extradition.

Grider was wanted on a Class B Felony on a probation violation on drug charges.
