Milan Lady Indians give Coach Milton Teer his 100th

Gary Franklin, Sports Writer

Mild mannered, but dead serious about his softball teams reaching their potential, Coach Milton Teer has led Milan Lady Indians in what seems like "since the beginning of time."
If the conversation is about Milan Lady Indian softball, Milton Teer is certain to be part of the conversation.
Team wins this week give justification to his being automatically associated as a part of the subject as they together put him in the 100+ wins column as a Milan coach.
As with many coaches, coaching requires the sacrifice of much family time, unless the family members are part of it, which the Teer's have been. At the ball field you will find his wife keeping the score book, older daughters rallying the team and supporting their younger sister Kara, who is a member of the Lady Indians present team.
Ironically, Kara was on third and her crossing home plate solidified her dad's 100th career victory by making the score 10-0 over the North Decatur Lady Chargers in the sixth inning, ending the game by the 10 Run Rule.
The win entitled the Lady Indians to advance to the sectional championship contest against the Southwestern Hanover Lady Rebels.

She is one of the reasons Coach Milton Teer can attest to his 100th career win as the Lady Indian softball team coach. Teer acquired the century mark in the Lady Indians 10-0 defeat of the North Decatur Lady Chargers in IHSAA's Class 2A Sectional #44's second win, which slated them for championship competition against the Southwestern Hanover Lady Rebels on Thursday night, May 22, held at Lawrenceburg High School.

Eagle senior teammates enjoy their close knit friendship a little longer
For yet a little while, the seven Jac-Cen-Del seniors baseball players get to enjoy their school time lifelong friendships before moving on in their separate desired paths. Pictured front, from left are David Busch, Brock Billman and Andrew Wagner. Standing are Eric Horan, Brandon Gehl, Austin Lord and Zach Simon. The young men have added much depth and strength to the Eagle athletic programs over the years and will surely be missed in seasons to come.
