Interim marshal named at Osgood

The Osgood Town Board held a special meeting on Saturday, May 31 to hire John Hegge as their interim town marshal. Hegge was hired on a 16-233k contract and will work 40 hours a week.
Hegge is a graduate of the Indiana Law Enforcement Academy class #219. His certifications include CPR, First Responder, Standard Field Sobriety Test, Breath Test Operator, Child Passenger Safety Seat Technician, and Radar Certification.

His training also includes Patrol Rifle School and Indoor Cannabis Cultivation Course. He received certificates from the Multi-Jurisdictional Counter Drug Taskforce in Drug Identification, Highway/Rural Interdiction, Clandestine Labs, Patrol Interdiction, Drug Investigations and Airport Narcotics Investigation.

Hegge worked in the Public Safety Division at the Greater Cincinnati Airport before joining the Dillsboro Police Department in 2005. He received his promotion to sergeant in January 2008.
The Osgood Town Board was assisted in their search by Stan Holt of the Batesville Police Department and Ripley County Sheriff Tom Grills.
