Madison couple die in motorcycle/car crash

A Madison husband and wife, Thomas E. Conrad Sr., 63, and Carolyn Sue, 52, were killed when their motorcycle, a 2008 Kawasaki, collided head on with a car on US 421 just south of County Road 350 South, near Versailles, (by the Laughery Valley Ag Co-Op) Saturday morning, July 12. The crash occurred just before noon. Patricia Ann Siemon, 68, of Orlando, Florida, was driving the 2006 Chevrolet Malibu that was struck. She was treated for a minor cut at the scene and was not transported to a hospital. The crash is being investigated by Tpr. Ben Bastin of the Indiana State Police, and assisted by Troopers Brent Miller and Jason Hankins. The driver of the motorcycle, Thomas Conrad, crossed the centerline for unknown reasons hitting the car head on. The motorcyclists were part of a group of about ten, who were traveling from Madison, northbound on US 421, and had just begun their ride for the day. Others assisting at the scene were: Ripley County EMS, Versailles Volunteer Fire Department, State Highway Department, and the Ripley County Coroner.
