Lady Hamilton drives her "red Chevy" to the front

Featured 2008 Ripley County Fair entertainment put on at the track in front of the grandstand by the Osgood Volunter Fire Department on Friday night, July 25 was truck drags.
Other than a slight problem with the starting tree lights during the event, all went well. Trucks were assigned to classes based on the type truck, gas or diesel, stock, modified, 2 or 4 wheel drive, etc.
The evening's drags were broken down into 14 classes for racing action. The top three position winners of each class are listed below.

In addition to the above named communities, drivers came from Batesville, Hartsville, Holton, Milroy, Napoleon, New Point, Oldenburg, Shelbyville and Sunman along with Milton & Sanders, Kentucky entries.
A spokesperson for the Osgood Fire Department stated they were appreciative of the support given the event, making for an enjoyable night of racing.

Moore's 4-H fair week goes from single horsepower to multiple horsepower

Entertainment on the track in front of the Ripley County Fair grandstand on Saturday night, July 26, revolved around the Osgood Volunteer Fire Department sponsored truck pull. Threatening rain from dark clouds dissapated, leaving sunny skies until the big diesels began to roar.
Billowing blackness lofted skyward as the roaring engines wound up for their turn on the sled. Advertised as a diesel truck pull, there were enough gas powered truck drivers interested to create an E class for them.

Kevin Menchhofer hooked his Mack semi tractor to the sled for a couple of pulls.
No one was able to pull the sled the entire distance in any of the classes ran on the evening. However some of the entrants had to be pulled away to clear the track for other competitors.
