Aldean E. Williams
Aldean E. Williams, 92, of Louisville, passed
away Friday, July 18, 2008. Funeral services were held Monday,
July 21 at Arch L. Heady at Resthaven Chapel, in Bardstown,
Kentucky. Burial was in the Resthaven Memorial Park.
Arch L. Heady at Resthaven in Louisville was in charge of the
arrangements.
Charles L. Lang
Charles L. "Charlie" Lang, 82, of Dillsboro, died
Tuesday, July 29, 2008 at the Waters of Dillsboro Ross Manor.
He was born in Clay Township, Dearborn County on June 1, 1926
the son of Albert Land and Edith Schill Lang. He married Darlene
Disbro on September 27, 1949 and she preceded him in death in
1990.
In 1942 he joined the US Army and served during WWII in Italy
and Germany. He was a POW for 30 days, after being captured
during the Battle of the Bulge. He returned home in 1944 and
started again at Lawrenceburg High School where he graduated
in 1946.
Mr. Lang worked at Schenley Distillery from 1950 to 1988. He
was a member of the Northcutt-Laker American Legion Post #292,
Aurora VFW Post 5312, the Aurora Moose Lodge and the Hopewell
Masonic Lodge #80 F&AM in Dillsboro.
Survivors include his son, Gene (Sandra) Lang of Aurora; his
daughter, Connie Lang of Dillsboro; two granddaughters, April
Lang and Amy Lang and her fiancée, Geoff Ashcraft and
his brother, Alfred Lang of Greenwood.
Mr. Lang was preceded in death by his wife, a grandson, Keith
Lang and brother, Lawrence Lang.
Visitation will be held Thursday, July 31 from 5-8 p.m. at Filter-DeVries
Funeral Home Dillsboro with Masonic services at 7:30 p.m. Funeral
services will be held Friday, August 1 at 1 p.m. at the funeral
home. Internment will be in the Oakdale Cemetery.

Ruth L. Cutter
Ruth L. Cutter, 85, of Farmers Retreat, died Wednesday,
July 30, 2008 at the Dearborn County Hospital. She was born
January 1, 1923 in Friendship the daughter of Jess Linkmeyer
and Hulda Vinup Meyer. She married Raymond E. Cutter on June
1, 1940 and he preceded her in death in 1985.
Mrs. Cutter was a lifelong resident of Farmers Retreat
and a member of the St. Johns Lutheran Church. She was
very active in her church, including the Ladies Leagues. She
was a retiree of Seagrams.
Survivors include two sons, Robert (Rebecca) Cutter of Versailles
and Ronald (Jane) Cutter of Georgetown, Kentucky; four grandchildren;
five great grandchildren; two sisters, Esther Gilland of Olean
and Marylou Narwold of Batesville.
Her husband; two sisters, Thelma and Dorothy; one brother, James
Linkmeyer and two grandchildren preceded her in death.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 2, at 11:00 a.m.
at the St. Johns Lutheran Church in Farmers Retreat.
Internment will be in the St. Johns Lutheran Cemetery.
Visitation will be Friday, August 1 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at
Filter-DeVries Funeral Home in Dillsboro.
Memorials may be made to St. Johns Lutheran Cemetery or
to the Friendship Fire Department.

Terry Joe Siekman, 53, of Rising Sun, died Monday,
July 21, 2008. Visitation will be held Thursday, July 24 from
5-8 p.m. at the Markland Funeral Home, Rising Sun. Funeral services
will be held Friday, July 25 at 11 a.m. at the funeral home
with Pastor John Heckman officiating. Burial will be in the
Rising Sun New Cemetery.

American Cancer Society.

Mary Jane Fightmaster, 79, of Oldenburg, died Monday, July 21,
2009. A memorial service will be held Thursday, July 24, at
12 noon at St. John United Church of Christ (Huntersville) with
Rev. David Johnston officiating. Burial will follow in the St.
John Church Cemetery.

Anna M. Sizemore, 79, of Aurora, died Wednesday, July 23, 2008
at the Waters of Dillsboro. She was mar-ried to George Sizemore
and the mother of Danny Clem.

Florence R. Lade
Florence R. Lade, 91, of Dillsboro, died Sunday,
July 13, 2008 at Ripley Crossing. She was born March 3, 1917
in Gothenburg, Nebraska, the daughter of Charles W. Brestel
and Louise Younghands Brestel. She married Rev. Alvin R. Lade
on November 24, 1935 and he preceded her in death in 1987.
Survivors include nine children, Monica (Ray) Parker, Larry
(Brenda) Lade, Rev. Charles Lade, Marcus Lade, David (Barb)
Lade, Ella (Ron) Colwell, Kathy (Dean) Cutter, Jonathan (Hwei
Jwan) Lade and Joy (Bob) Richards; 26 grandchildren; 22 great
grandchildren; three sisters, Vera VanAlmen, Betty Kaaz and
Maxine Schnoor.
Her husband and an infant daughter preceded her in death.
Mrs. Lade worked along side of her husband when he was pastor
of Trinity Lutheran Church from 1967 to 1977. She loved quilting,
doll making and later in life became activities director at
Dillsboro Manor.
Visitation will be held Friday, July 18 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m.
at Filter-DeVries Funeral Home in Dillsboro. Funeral services
will be held Saturday, July 19 at 11:00 a.m. at the Trinity
Lutheran Church in Dillsboro. Burial will follow in the Oakdale
Cemetery.

Thomas E. "Tom" Conrad, Sr., 63, of Madison, died

Carolyn Sue Pender Conrad, 52, of Madison, died Saturday, July

Audrey L. Hall
Audrey L. Hall, 84, of Milan, passed away on
Tues-day, July 8, 2008 at Christ Hospital, Cincinnati, Ohio.
She was born March 7, 1924 in Emmalena, Kentucky, the daughter
of William Singleton and Bertha Carol Singleton. She married
Clay Hall on May 22, 1949 and he survives.
Other survivors include three children, Michael W. Hall (Debbie)
of Milan, Gary L. Hall (Angel) of Versailles, Carol H. Jackson
of Milan, Luwanda Hall-Lykens (Gary) of Greenfield; one sister,
Colleen Lawburgh of Milan; one brother, Dennis Singleton of
San Francisco, California and many loving and devoted grandchildren
and great grandchildren.
Her parents, William and Bertha Singleton and two brothers,
Orlin B. and Oliver C. Singleton preceded her in death.
Mrs. Hall was a dedicated teacher, teaching first in Kentucky
and from 1957 to 1986 teaching math and science at Milan Jr./Sr.
High School.
A memorial service will be held Sunday, July 13, at the Milan
United Methodist Church beginning at 4:30 p.m. A time for visiting
and reminiscing with family and friends will be held from 3:00
to 4:30 p.m. before the memorial service.
A private burial service will be held at the convenience of
the family.
Clifford Snow
Clifford L. Snow, 77, of Milan, died Monday, July 7, 2008 at
the Dearborn County Hospital, Lawrenceburg. He was born November
12, 1931 in Ross, Ohio, the son of Clifford G. and Eleanor (Erven)
Snow. He married June (Mack) Snow on November 24 1950 and she
survives.
Other survivors include three sons, Greg (Evelyn) Nielsen of
Moores Hill, Clifford Snow Jr. of Milan, Paul (Deborah) Snow
of Ocala, Florida; two daughters, June (Eugene) Dunn of Milan,
Deanna (Buck) Harrell of Ocala, Florida; one brother, Ronald
Snow of Harrison, Ohio; two sisters, Phyllis Little of Lawrenceburg,
Shirley Comb of Brookville; 25 grandchildren, 35 great grandchildren
and several great great grandchildren.
One son, Danny Snow and three daughters, Donna Bradley, Shirley
Jennings and Norma Willoughby and three brothers preceded him
in death.
Mr. Snow was a retired truck driver.
Visitation will be held Saturday, July 12 from 9-11 a.m. at
the Laws-Carr-Moore Funeral Home, Milan. Funeral services will
be held Saturday, July 12 at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with
Rev. Tom Holt officiating. Burial will follow in the Union Flat
Rock Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the Heart Fund or to the Diabetes Foundation.

Lovina Louise Denny-Grigsby, 80, of Avon, formerly of Osgood,
died Friday, July 4, 2008. Visitation will be held Friday, July
11 from 10-12 p.m. at Stith Funeral Home, Hebron, Kentucky.
Funeral services will be held 12 noon on Friday at the funeral
home.

Inez E. Elston
Inez E. Elston, 84, of Cross Plains passed away
Tuesday, July 1, 2008 at the Kings Daughters Hospital
in Madison. She was born in the Marble Corner community in what
is now the Jefferson Proving Ground near New Marion on December
8, 1923 the daughter of Rev. Arthur and Ina Irene Anderson Dilk.
She was married to Raymond Elston on February 14, 1948 and he
preceded her in death on September 4, 1993.
Survivors include one daughter Pam Hicks of Cross Plains; grandchildren
Tom Downey and Elizabeth Hicks both of Cross Plains and Heather
(Ben) Kremer of Jeffersontown, Kentucky; one great-granddaughter
Caitlin Downey. She was also preceded in death by her parents,
her daughter Cheryl Elston, and her brothers Vernon and Charles
Dilk.
Mrs. Elston was a 1942 graduate of Cross Plains High School.
She was retired from the Jefferson Proving Ground where she
worked in Budget and Finance.
Funeral services will be held today, Thursday, July 3, at 1
p.m. at the Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home in Versailles with
Rev. Scott Elston officiating. Burial will be in the Marble
Corner Cemetery at Versailles. Memorials may be given to the
Marble Corner Cemetery or Rescue 69 in care of the funeral home.

Bernetta D. Purcell
Bernetta D. Purcell, 86, of Columbus, died Tuesday, July 1,
2008 at Johnson Memorial Hospital in Franklin.
A private family service will be held today, Thursday, July
3 at 11 a.m. at Cliff Hill Cemetery. Arrangements are being
handled by Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home, Columbus.
