Gary Franklin, Sports Writer
A week after the 2008 Black N' Gold Milan football debut of Friday, August 8, where 200+ Milan youth hit the MHS gridiron for an inner squad showcase, the high school teams met rival Eastern Pekin for a preseason scrimmage.
Of the massive number of kids participating in the Black N' Gold showcase, 154 were currently between the kindergarten and eighth grade in school, with the additional 55 on high school teams.
The high school players have been working and training hard in their preparatory practices to claim a more positive season outcome than teams of recent years.
If fan turnout for the '08 Black N' Gold showcase is any type of an indicator, the Milan teams will continue to be well represented in all levels by fan support.
