Jac-Cen-Del Lady Eagle golf team performs to new heights

The 2008 JCD Lady Eagle golf team behind Coach RuthAnn Peetz have accomplished a couple of firsts in Jac-Cen-Del Lady Eagle golf team history.
Competing on the Hoosier Links Golf Course Back 9 on Monday evening, August 25, the Lady Eagles won their first ever four-way match after shooting a team round at 212.
The match found the Lady Eagles teeing off at Hoosier Links in a set against the South Ripley Lady Raiders, the Southwestern Hanover Lady Rebels and the Madison Consolidated Lady Cubs.
Team scores at match end were JCD 212, South Ripley just off one at 213, Southwestern at 222 and Madison closing the day at 232.
Individual scoring resulted in Lakin Davis of South Ripley as the Medalist with her round of 41. Lady Eagle Kristen Hicks was Runner-up Medalist with her round of 45.

JCD team scores a 191 vs Trinity Lutheran
On Tuesday evening, August 26, the Lady Eagles shot their history best at 191 in their round against Trinity Lutheran on the Prairie at North Branch Golf Course in New Point., with the Milan Indian team not participating due to respects being paid to a fallen student.
JCD scored a 191 to Trinity Lutheran's 216. Individual Lady Eagle scores were: Kristen Hicks as Medalist @ 41, Jaime Lunsford - Runner up Medalist @ 47, Erica Hicks @ 49, Samantha Walke @ 54 and Emily Huntington @ 58.
Trinity scores were: Hanna Currao @ 49, Dakota Richart @ 51, Maghin Shelton @ 53 and Katrina Kozisck @ 63.
The Lady Eagle golf team is next scheduled for action at 4:30 p.m. at the Vineyard against the Switzerland County Lady Pacers on Wednesday evening, September 3.


Lady Raiders battle their way to team victories over the SC Lady Pacers

The South Ripley Lady Raider volleyball battle plan aspired to do what it was meant to do on Tuesday evening, August 26, at SRES as both the varsity and JV won their matches.
The Switzerland County Lady Pacers came calling, with winning also on their agenda. The Lady Raiders captured the match in back to back games by scores of 25-21 and 25-22. Nothing easy about either JV game, but manageable enough for SR to get the job done.

Following the wins over SC, the Lady Raider JV season record stands at 5-1, while the varsity Lady Raiders are 2-1.
The Lady Raiders are scheduled to compete against South Decatur at SRES on August 28 and travel to Madison for invitational tourney competition on Saturday, August 30 before hitting the road yet again traveling to face Trinity Lutheran on September 2.
