Indians host Bulldogs in first home
game of their '08 season
Gary Franklin, Sports

Following a triumphant victory on the road to start their
2008 varsity football season, with a 42-0 crushing of
Northeastern on Friday, August 22, the Indians hosted
the Batesville Bulldogs.
With stands packed for the opening home game on Friday
evening, August 29, anticipation was high that the Indians
would claim their second win of the new season.
In opening the game festivities, the Indian students and
staff payed honor to recently fallen Kendra Goff. The
band played her favorite song "Holiday" before
the National Anthem was observed.
The entire Milan HS band, drill team and cheerleader squad
wore pink ribbons in respect to Goff.
The desired hopes by the Indians of claiming the home
opener victory would be later put to rest as the Bulldogs
managed to win the game 19-3. However, a mere first half
score of Batesville 7-0 over the Indians, kept everyones
focus on the game.
Early in the second half, Indian Jason Garner finally
got his 27 yard kick between the uprights to draw them
to within four points at 3-7.
That was the only scoring through the third period of
play by either side. The fourth quarter would not be so
gracious for the tribe as the Bulldogs managed to add
12 more.
Positive moments were few and far between for the Indians
through the fourth period of play against the Bulldogs.
