Do or die time, Lady Eagle Huntington secures victory over Lady Chargers

Gary Franklin, Sports Editor

Making no bones about it, many Lady Eagles had to contribute dramatically at different times throughout the game to get to the final play as JCD battled the visiting North Decatur Lady Chargers, but the final shot delivered by senior Emily Huntington was a beauty that put the game in coach Scott Smith's win column.

Lady Eagle Varsity Coach Scott Smith commented about the game, "It was a great team win with every kid stepping up at different times. Morgan Young in the first half along with Meagan Hughes, Megan "Mo" Obermeyer and Sydney Keene in the second and Kara Wagner and Amber Crank on the defensive side. Finally, although Emily Huntington didn't have her best outing, she was big in the clutch."
The hard fought game victory resulted in the Lady Eagles notching their seventh of the season with the scoring of Huntington's 8-footer at the buzzer, even though the Lady Eagles trailed by as many as 11 during the game.

JV Game
However, a negative outcome resulted for the Lady Eagle JV, as they fell by a 10 point deficit, 27-37 in a game that was well contested until the last two minutes.
Nothing seemed to work for JCD while everything left positive results for ND.
