Jacob Scare Haunted Woods
The Jacob Vogel Memorial Haunted Woods will be open Saturday, Oct. 8 and continuing every Friday and Saturday night in October (weather permitting) from 8 – 11 p.m. There is an admission charge. Tour a one-room schoolhouse museum
A one-room schoolhouse is open for tours on Sunday afternoons in Sept. and Oct. Listed on the National Register of Historical Places, the schoolhouse was built in 1888 and in 1993 was completely restored. Tours are each Sunday afternoon from 2 – 4 p.m. To schedule a tour at any other time call 812-432-5401 or 812-667-5330. The school is 4 miles west of Dillsboro on SR 62 in Farmers Retreat. Teachers are welcome to bring 4th graders for field trips. The scouts and other groups are welcome. There is no charge.

Cross Plains Church of Christ revival
There will be a fall revival at the Cross Plains Church of Christ featuring evangelist Mark Fugate Oct. 16 – 21. Special music begins at 6:30 p.m. and preaching at 7 p.m.

Storytelling at Osgood Library

Stephanie Holman will be at the Osgood Library on Thursday, Oct. 20 at 6:30 p.m. She will be telling the story “Red Skeleton: Good Night & May God Bless” about Red Skeleton’s early years in Vincennes.

Honoring Milan Lions Club
The public is invited to the Reservation at Milan Thursday, Oct. 20, to show support for the Milan Lions Club. The club will be honored during an open house from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. for their charitable contributions. Complimentary appetizers and desserts will be available.

Napoleon Fall Bazaar
The Napoleon Fall Bazaar will take place Friday, Oct. 21, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Saturday, Oct. 22, from 8:30 a.m. until 1 p.m., at Napoleon Community Center. LOCATION: Hwy. 229, Napoleon.

Pancake breakfast in Milan
There will be a pancake breakfast on Saturday, Oct. 22 from 8 – 11:30 a.m. at the Milan VFW to raise funds for new town Christmas decorations. Breakfast tickets are available from any Lions Club member or can be purchased at the door. The breakfast is sponsored by the Milan Lions Club.

St. Peters UCC Halloween party

St. Peters UCC Finks Rd. & 700N, Osgood, is having a fall festival/Halloween party on Saturday, Oct. 22 from 6 – 8 p.m. The event is free and everyone is welcome.

The Annual “Trunk or Treat” at New Marion Baptist Church will take place on Sunday, Oct. 23 at 5:30 p.m. There will also be a chili cook-off and pumpkin bake-off. Prizes will be given for each category. Free will offering. Money will go toward the building fund.

Christmas Bazaar in Batesville

Golden Gate Community Choir practice
Golden Gate Community Choir begins practice for the Christmas Contata “Mary Did You Know?” Practices will be held at 2 p.m. every Sunday starting October 2 at the main sanctuary of Osgood United Methodist Church located at 213 South Walnut St., Osgood. Ripley County Food Pantry will be open the third Monday of the month from 9 a.m. to noon and 5:30 to 7 p.m.

Support group in Batesville
A family support group will be offered for individuals with addictions or substance abuse issues on the third Wednesday of the month at the Better Options office in Batesville (corner of SR 46 and Tekulve Rd.) from 6 – 7:30 p.m. There is no charge.

Historical Society archive hours
Ripley County Historical Society Archive Building located on the courthouse square will be open Monday through Friday from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.

Bridge of Hope Milan food pantry
Feed My Sheep Food Pantry at the Bridge of Hope in Milan serves the community on the third Monday of every month. Doors are open from 6 – 8 p.m. A valid ID is required. For more information call 812-654-2350.

Milan Beautification meeting
Milan Beautification Committee will meet the fourth Thursday of every month at 7 p.m. at Ripley Crossings in Milan. Everyone is welcome.

Senior meals in Dillsboro
LifeTime Resources has opened a Senior Nutrition Activity Center at Dillsboro Village Apartments in Dillsboro. Individuals who are 60 or over, and their spouse regardless of age, can enjoy activities and for a donation receive a hot meal Monday through Friday. Christian support group meeting

“Celebrate Recovery” a new Christian-based support group for those with addictions or life issues is held every Tuesday evening at the Bridge of Hope on SR 129/US 50 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Doors open at 6 p.m. for fellowship.
