VBC Preschool Orientation
The Very Blessed Children Preschool orientation will be held Thursday,
Sept. 2 at 6:30 p.m. The first day of school for the threes is
Tuesday Sept. 7, fours is Wednesday, Sept. 8. Both classes feature
the Zoophonics Reading Program along with one on one interaction.
Ham Dinner/Coffee Social
Ham Dinner/Coffee Social will be held on Thursday, Sept. 2, from
4:30-6:30 p.m. at Napoleon St. John Lutheran Church. Free will
donation. Carryouts available.

Sunman Wine & Fireworks Festival
Family fun, wine tasting, meals, games, and other entertainment.
Saturday parade followed by the Sunman Idol Contest Finale and

Annual Farrell Family Reunion
The Annual Farrell Family Reunion will be held Saturday, September
4 at the Holton Park. Bring a covered dish for lunch at 12:00
noon.

Versailles American Legion Picnic
The Versailles American Legion Picnic will be held Sunday, Sept.
5, at the Legion Memorial Park on East US 50, at 1 p.m. All Legion,
SAL, Auxiliary, and all veterans and families are invited. Admission
is you favorite covered dish. Fried chicken will be served.

Pierceville UMC Bake Goods/Rummage Sale
The Pierceville United Methodist Church will have a baked goods
and rummage sale at the fellowship hall on Friday, September 11
from 9-5 p.m. and on Saturday September 12 from 9-3 p.m.

24 Hours of DINO
24 Hours of DINO will be held at the Versailles State Park on
September 11. There will be a mountain bike relay and solo race

NMLRA National Championship Shoot
The National Muzzle Loading Rifle Associations National
Championship Shoot will be held September 11-19 in Friendship.
Black powder shooting competitions, early American crafts and
classes, living history demonstrations, museum displays and lectures,
period music, youth activities, and some of the finest commercial
vendors in the black powder community will be at the event. For

St. Johns Lutheran Ice Cream Social
St. Johns Lutheran Church, Napoleon, will be having their
homemade ice cream social on Sunday, September 12 from 3-7 p.m.
Menu includes grilled burgers, hot dogs, cole slaw, chips, cake
and a beverage. Entertainment will include Alan Crum and the Adams
Church Boys Plus.
Dabney Baptist Church Homecoming
Dabney Baptist Church will be celebrating their homecoming on
Sunday, September 12. Service begins at 10:30 a.m. with a pitch-in
dinner following. Revival will be September 12-15 at 7 p.m. nightly.
Bear Creek Baptist Church Fall Event
The Bear Creek Baptist Church is hosting their second annual Fall
Event at their church in Friendship on Sunday, September 12, starting
with a 10:00 a.m. service followed by dinner. Music will start
at 1:00 p.m. with singing by Kaitlyn Hughes, followed by The Woodsmen.
Everyone is invited.
St. John UCC Chicken Dinner
St. John United Church of Christ in Penntown (located at 8917
East County Road 1300 North, near the intersection of Hwys. 101
and 46) will be having a chicken dinner on Sunday, September 12
with continuous serving from 11 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. Menu includes
mashed potatoes and gravy, garden fresh tomatoes, side dishes
and homemade desserts. Visit outside and enjoy homemade ice cream
or shop at the country store and bazaar. Carryouts available,
$10.00 for adults, $4.00 for children.
Moores Hill Church of Christ Homecoming
The Moores Hill Church of Christ, located on Hwy. 350 in Moores
Hill, is having a homecoming celebration in honor of their 45th
anniversary on September 12 at 10:30 a.m. Following morning worship
free lunch and games for all ages will be provided. Come back
at 7:00 p.m. for a concert by the Heavenly Brothers.
Delaware UMC Homecoming
Delaware United Methodist Church will be having their 2010 homecoming
on Sunday, September 12. Morning church service starts at 8:30
a.m., Sunday school starts at 9:30 a.m., pitch-in dinner starts
at 12:00 noon and a homecoming program with worship and special
music will begin at 1:30 p.m.

Ripley County Democrats to meet
The Ripley County Democrats will meet Tuesday, September 14 at
the Osgood Town Hall. The catered meal will be at 6 p.m. with

made for the Pumpkin Show and the upcoming Jefferson-Jackson Dinner

Osgood Historical Museum to meet
The Osgood Historical Museum will be having the annual meeting
on September 16 at 7 p.m. The featured speaker will be Delbert
Abplanalp recalling memories of Osgood.
St. Peters UCC Coffee Social
St. Peters United Church of Christ, Osgood, corner of W.
County Road 700 N and Finks Road will host a coffee social on
Thursday, September 16, 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. A full menu will be
served including homemade bread, coffee cake, hot ham, cold cuts,
tacos, macaroni and cheese and more. Free will offering

S.E. IN Right to Life to meet
The S.E. IN Right to Life will meet September 20 at 7 p.m. at
the Church of Christ on Jarvis Drive in Versailles. There will
be a business meeting, educational discussion and fellowship.
Refreshments will be provided. All are welcome to attend.

Blood Pressure/Blood Sugar Checks
Blood pressure/blood sugar checks will be provided at the Tyson
School Apartments, 100 South High Street, Versailles, from 10:00
10:30 a.m. on September 21 by the Dearborn County Hospitals
Nursing Department. This is a free service and is open to the

Room Schoolhouse & Museum open
One Room Schoolhouse and Museum, located west of Dillsboro on
State Road 62 at Farmers Retreat, is open to visitors every
Sunday from 2-4 p.m. through September and October. Built in 1888,
this schoolhouse is completely restored with old desks, stove,
lamps, books, etc. just as it was 1888-1950. It is listed on the
National Historical Register and is also next door to St. Johns
Lutheran Church (1843). Tours by appointment at other times please

Ripley Co. Historical Museum Open
Ripley County Historical Society Museum is open from 2-4 p.m.
every Sunday until Labor Day.
Milan Beautification Meetings
The Milan Beautification Committee will hold meetings at Ripley
Crossing on the 4th Thursday of every month at 7 p.m.
Moores Hill Food Pantry

La Leche League of Sunman is a mother-to-mother support group
