Tour a one-room schoolhouse museum
A one-room schoolhouse is open for tours on Sunday afternoons in Sept. and Oct. Listed on the National Register of Historical Places, the schoolhouse was built in 1888 and in 1993 was completely restored. Tours are each Sunday afternoon from 2 – 4 p.m. To schedule a tour at any other time call 812-432-5401 or 812-667-5330. The school is 4 miles west of Dillsboro on SR 62 in Farmers Retreat. Teachers are welcome to bring 4th graders for field trips. The scouts and other groups are welcome. There is no charge.

Jacob Scare Haunted Woods
The Jacob Vogel Memorial Haunted Woods will be open Saturday, Oct. 8 and continuing every Friday and Saturday night in October (weather permitting) from 8 – 11 p.m. There is an admission charge. Kiwanis fishing contest
Osgood Kiwanis will have a “Catch of the Day” fishing contest October 1 at 7 p.m. Registration will begin at 6 a.m. at the Osgood Trails. Fishing will be at the quarry. Contest runs from 7 – 10 a.m., weigh-in at 10:30. A license is required for those 18 years and older. There is cost for adults and kids.

Delaware fire dept. fish fry

Delaware Community Vol. Fire Dept. will have a fish fry October 1 from 4 – 7 p.m. Carry-outs available. LOCATION: In Delaware just north of the Intersection of State Rd. 129 and State Rd. 350; 5254 N. State Road 129.

Osgood ‘Bricktoberfest’

Rescue 69 5K run/walk

Ripley County Food Pantry will be open the third Monday of the month from 9 a.m. to noon and 5:30 to 7 p.m.

Senior meals in Dillsboro
LifeTime Resources has opened a Senior Nutrition Activity Center at Dillsboro Village Apartments in Dillsboro. Individuals who are 60 or over, and their spouse regardless of age, can enjoy activities and for a donation receive a hot meal Monday through Friday.
