St. Peter's UCC coffee social

St. Peter's UCC will once again hold its monthly coffee social on Thursday, May 16. A full menu will be served beginning at 4:30 p.m. and ending at 6:30 p.m. All are welcome. A free will offering will be taken.

Benefit Mississippi catfish fry

A benefit Mississippi catfish fry will be held Friday, May 17 at the 421 Market Building, 5402 US 421, approximately 6 miles south of Versailles. Serving will begin at 4:30 and will end at 7:30 p.m. All donations go to the Amish Parochial School.

Tree County Players musical auditions

Auditions for The Fantasticks, a musical by Harvey Schmidt and by Tom Jones, will be held at the Tree County Players office (327 S Monfort St., Greensburg) on May 17, from 6:30 to 9:00 p.m. and May 18 from 10:00 a.m. to noon. Back Door Friends in Faith

Back Door Friends in Faith, a ministry provided by Tyson United Methodist Church will provide items not allowed for purchase by the Food Stamp Program to local families. They will have paper products, cleaning supplies and personal items available for distribution one day each month. The next distribution date is Sat., May 18 from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. The distribution will take place at the Tyson UMC annex at 107 N. Adams St.

Versailles Kiwanis Taste of Summer

The Versailles Kiwanis will host their first Taste of Summer contest on Saturday, May 18 on the Versailles courthouse square. There will be grilling contests, cooking demonstrations, wine tasting by Ertel Cellars, music by Bob Lafary and Holland and Weber grill products. No admission, bring the whole family. 812-689-6654.

Memorial Day Parade and Service

The Versailles American Legion Post 173 will hold a Memorial Day parade and service on Monday, May 27, at 10 a.m. The parade will begin at the Legion to Cliff Hill Cemetery for a service and then on to the Ripley County Courthouse Memorial. Osgood High School reunion

The 72nd annual Osgood High School reunion will be held June 1 at the JCD Elementary School. Doors will open at 4:30 p.m. and dinner will be served at 6:00 p.m. Please note the date had to be changed from the second Saturday to the first Saturday in June.

Friends of Versailles State Park

The Friends of Versailles State Park will hold their first Saturday hike beginning at 9 a.m. in the park. Everyone is invited to hike. Hikers need to meet at the Oak Grove Shelter parking lot.

Author to visit OPL Book Club

Author Cathy Day will visit the Book Club at the Osgood Public Library to talk about her book on Thursday, June 6 at 6 p.m. Her book, The Circus in Winter, is a series of connected tales. Sunman Fireman's Festival

The Sunman Fireman's Festival will take place on Friday, June 7, and Saturday, June 8, with games, food, fun, and live bands both evenings. NMLRA National Spring Shoot

The National Muzzle Loading Rifle Association, Friendship, will hold its annual muzzle loading rifle competition from June 8-16. There will be living history events and encampment, and a rifle museum is located on State Road 62 in Friendship. Hours vary and there is an admission charge. Friendship Flea Markets

The Friendship Flea Markets will be held from June 8-16 in Friendship. Almost 500 vendor spaces sell a wide variety of new, used, antiques, and collectibles as well as specialty foods. Milan '54 Hoosiers Museum Grand Opening!

Come celebrate the grand opening of the new Milan '54 Hoosiers Museum. Meet the original players, "Hoosiers" actors, see cars from the 1950s and 1960s, enjoy the '50s parade, and get autographs. The Laughery Valley 405 2nd Annual Ride for Cops and Kids will be held Saturday, August 17, with breakfast served from 8:30-11 a.m. Sign-in will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. with kick stands up at 1:15 p.m. All riders are welcome. Come and support Ripley and Franklin County cops and kids.

Moores Hill Food Pantry

The Moores Hill Food Pantry located in the Moores Hill Baptist Church is now open 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. and 6-7 p.m. every Tuesday. Pantry will be closed if schools are closed due to weather. Please help support the pantry and your local business.
