The Ripley County Historical Society Museum will be open on Sunday afternoons 2-4 p.m. from June 1 through August 24 and on Pumpkin Show day.

Tyson Activity Center has special programming this summer. CEF Archery will be held from Monday, July 21 to Friday, July 25. Tyson Activity Center is located in Versailles.
There will be a Junior Master Naturalist Course at the Muscatatuck National Wildlife Refuge from Monday, July 21 through Friday, July 25, for youngsters 9-13 years of age. The weeklong program will be held at the refuge visitor center and times will be from 9 a.m. to noon Monday through Thursday and from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Friday. There will be a book sale on Thursday and Friday, July 24-25, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.; and Saturday, July 26, from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. at Church on the Rock. Gary Wintz, native of Batesville, will offer a free Travel Slide Show at Batesville Memorial Public Library on Thurs., July 24, from 6-7:30 p.m. Gary will share photos and stories from North Korea, Burma, Laos, and beyond. Author/editor Father Jack Wintz, OFM, will be available for book signings. Franklin County resident Kristen Giesting will share about her research trip to Bhutan.
There will be a rummage sale sponsored by and at Holy Family Church in Oldenburg from Friday, July 25 through Sunday, July 27. The Ripley County Tourism Bureau is partnering with the Tri-State Artisans Art Gallery in Batesville for a very unique event, “Art from the Heart, Throw Paint Like Pollock,” on Saturday, July 26, beginning at 2:30 p.m. on George Street in Batesville. There will be a 30 mile tractor ride on Sunday, August 3. The group will leave the Lutz Auction Center at 10 a.m. sharp, arriving around noon at St. John’s Lutheran Church at Hubbles Corner (12523 N. Dearborn Rd., Sunman). Meet at the church for dinner, then arriving back at the auction center around 3 p.m. All tractors must be equipped with a slow moving vehicle sign and operable brakes (both old and modern tractors). Back Door Friends in Faith is an outreach program of Tyson United Methodist Church. On the third Saturday of each month, residents from the South Ripley and Jac-Cen-Del school districts are invited to come and receive needed household items that cannot be obtained through the food stamp program. First time participants must bring a photo ID and proof of address. All items are free. Anyone wishing to donate items for distribution can drop off donations at the Annex, 107 N.
